Fitocracy Invites
What is Fitocracy?
Fitocracy is a site that uses “gamification” (the treating of a thing as if it were a game, often adding “quests”, “badges”, and “achievements” to motivate users) on fitness.
You heard me right.
Pushups give you xp. Level up by pumping iron, doing crunches, jogging, or swimming.
Log your workouts and complete quests for an extra xp boost.
Magic Motivator
The site’s not a magic band-aid. It’s nice, and kinda fun, but it won’t solve motivation problems on its own.
It DOES give extra impetus towards wanting to work out, and I AM doing a few extra things here and there to try and hop past a level or complete a quest.
I like it. I don’t love it yet, but I like it.
Want an Invite?
I have SIX invites (at the time of this blog post writing) to send out to whoever wants one.
Every person who is invited is given a number of invites they can send out. If more than six people comment here that they’d like an invite, maybe some folks can come back and offer to send some out, but that’s up to them. First six people comment that they want one will get an invitation sent to the email address they comment with (so you don’t need to display it in your comment)

I would like an invite, please! :)
Invite sent! =]
I’ll take one. I probably won’t be ready to get back into the workout routine until after the 1st but it sounds like something that might help keep me going once I get started again!
Comin’ atcha like a beam, like a ray.
It kinda sounds fun. I’d like one if you still have a spare.
Rhoelyn´s last post ..Oh, the Possibilities!
On its way! ^_^
If you still have one up for grabs, why the heck not. I’ve been curious for awhile, and maybe it’ll be the kick in the pants I need to get back to the gym. :)
Thankee!
*laugh* SO MANY LAURENS.
Clearly, I am blessed. ^_^
Invite on its way!
I spent some time on Fitocracy for awhile, and I did like it, but it’s kind of discouraging when you’re dealing with restrictions on exercise. I stopped updating it when “incidental walking” was no longer “allowed” – since that walking is a huge part of my exercise, and is intentional, even if it is part of my job. It got to feeling like a big show-offy kind of thing, and that just made me not want to do it anymore (since some days 15 minutes of stretching and walking is really all I CAN do, though thankfully I don’t have many days like that anymore). It IS fun though, and much like Chore Wars can add little bits of motivation to do one more thing. :)
Interesting! Falconesse posted “Light Walking” today which seems to cover what you’re talking about. I wonder if they got a lot of complaints and re-instated it?
I would love an invite if you have one left. Thanks, Kelvin.
I do, indeed. On its way!
