I love My Little Ponies
I loved them when I was a kid, hung on to them a little longer than most when I was a teenager, and am falling in love with them again as an adult. The new show, subtitled “Friendship is Magic” is bright, cheerful, and full of great little stories about friendship, love, trust, forgiveness, honesty, and teamwork.
The artist in me adores the fantastic animations and adorable ponies.
The writer in me revels in the great storytelling and writing (even within the constraints of a children’s show). I also can’t help but respect Lauren Faust (the creator of the recent revamp for the My Little Pony franchise) for things like this.
The Bathroom Diva in me cannot stop singing the songs. (Note: the following is an entire playlist of songs, not just a single. Enjoy!)

My mind is too muddled to give a proper response. So I offer the following…
Short stories…children’s stories…great storytelling with real conflict….cartoons…male and female cartoons…cartoon role models?? ….superpowers…defeating evil….”I get up every day and fight off dragons with my sword”…..MY LITTLE PONIES??? (gasp)….a cowgirl pony :)
Cowgirl pony is one of my favorites. Applejack. She’s the honest, hard worker. Her little sister is a lot of fun, too. Applebloom.
Your girl might be too old for them (or too mature, corrects the 30-year-old blogger who still likes cartoons) but I do love them. <3

When the DVR failed to record the new episode of Adventure Time a week or so ago, there was crying in my home. There was despondency.

Oh, Adventure Time is totally rhombus!! I am not sure if Netlfix carries it. I think you can find episode online…maybe.
One of the characters, LSP (Lumpy Space Princess) owns my favorite line:
“I wish I could help you, Finn. But my parents are HORRIBLE IDIOTS.”
I also love the quote: “I would rather die than use my imagination.”
There is a love interest named Lady Rainicorn. She is, obiviously, a rainbow colored Unicorn who speaks Korean. WHO SPEAKS KOREAN.
Okay, that right there should have you running to find the show. Because it is that hilarious.

I also love Pinkie’s Smile song. So cute and bouncy and happy :D I’m working on a series of drawings of the Venture Bros. as ponies, so there’s that. I obviously have a cartoon problem ;)
Also, just gonna chime in here to say that Adventure Time is AMAZING. It’s silly and fun, but it also has a lot of “grown-up” moments. I really really wish I had these shows when I was a kid. Also, the Legend of Korra. O…M…G.

The Cutie Mark Crusaders song! Slays me. Plus, I loooove the CMC. I don’t know what I’ll do when they finally get their cutie marks :P
