Red Will Carry : The Dragon’s Lullabye

by     4 Comments    Posted under: On The Art of Authoring

Some of you may recall that I work with a very talented musician.

As part of a skills trade, he wrote a lullabye for me.

More specifically, he wrote a lullabye for the first book in the Taven series. This is the song crooned by dragon broodmothers to unhatched eggs, hidden away in crystal caverns beneath the Terraces of Zefan.

(Note that the lyrics came from me and I am NOT a lyrics writer. The melody is ALL HIM though, and it’s perfect.)

  • I inadverently qued up two audios of the lullaby. I did not realize it until I was closing some windows. I thought it was lovely just the same. :)

How fun was that, writing a lullaby and then hearing someone turn it into beautiful music for you??

    • Ha! I think it has a bit of an echo to begin with. ^_^

We’ve had pieces of that lullaby sitting in a document for … years. Yes. Years. Was kind of awesome to be able to barter some web programming skills to finally see it alive.

(Also, I hate how lullaby is spelled. That seems like it should be pronounced “lulla-bee”)

  • I’m only just now getting around to listening to this (thank you, feed reader queue!) and it’s -gorgeous-. Your friend is indeed very talented :)

Also, hi hello hey hi hello *wave* <3

    • She’s alliiiiiiive.

Also, in response to your Tamikins folder, I totally have a “McWin” folder of my own. *grin*
